Astereo (a-stereo) is the personal portfolio of Andrew Clemente – a 23 year old freelance web designer and developer from Rhode Island along the east coast of the United States. Astereo began in January 2005 after I had been experimenting with basic html beginning at age 12. Once I got my hands on Photoshop and Dreamweaver I was able to truly begin exploring design and code. Over the years I have continued to evolve my entirely self-taught skill set, and it has lead to the development of two major projects (Devlounge and Market Theme), five freely released WordPress themes, and countless projects of all types and sizes for clients in the United States and abroad.

Approach
First is that design should come naturally, and so should how a user navigates your website. I am not simply a web designer, but a web user. For this reason the focus of all my work is always “who is the audience and how will they be using this?” Once I answer that question, I design accordingly. Well organized, professional, easy to use websites are a staple of every project I take on — regardless of how big (or small) the client is.
Second is communication. Working with someone from another state or even another country can put you a bit on edge. My goal is to provide an open lane of communication — one with clear deadlines, constant updates, and plenty of notice if an issue arises. You can be confident not only in the quality of the work you are going to receive but also in my level of dedication to you and your project.
Elsewhere
In addition to freelance work, since September 2010 I have been working for the University of Rhode Island as a student developer. I have since been involved in rebranding, redesign, and restructuring of various college departments. I have also been responsible for creating a custom touch-friendly, mobile optimized theme for the university that can be accessed from anywhere.
I am a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a BSBA in entrepreneurial management.
Additionally, I maintain a professional profile page at www.andrewclemente.com.
